The Heart of a Witness

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.

Proverbs 11:30

John 4:34-38 - Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows, and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”

Over the years it has become very clear in my heart that the only way to effect change in the earth is to change the heart of man. Jesus was direct in His command/commission to the church right before He ascended into heaven. His words were, go throughout all the world and make disciples out of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things as I commanded you.

The heart of a witness carries this revelation in his heart at all time knowing that he is imitating Jesus example of doing the will of God and finishing His work. Jesus said to me before I left South Carolina and move to California, “it’s the work that counts” and now I understand what He meant by those words. Jesus was saying look around you, can’t you see that the world needs a savior. The field is white to harvest and we must look at the people with the eyes of God before it’s too late for them.

The bible teaches “he who wins souls is wise” and that was Jesus ministry He said I came to seek and saved that which was lost. My heart aches for God and the people who don’t know there’s a heaven to gain and a hell to shun. The heart of witness will always look for ways to please God, in word, deed, and action that’s the most exciting thing anyone can do.

Sharing your faith in God with others will fill your heart with unspeakable joy. Jesus whole life was set on pleasing God. Our focus must also be on the lost and a witness needs to have a praying heart. Jesus went from prayer closet to prayer closet and He worked miracles in between. Jesus was open to His Father’s Love and was moved with compassion when He saw the needs of the lost.

You must make yourselves available to God and embrace the same mindset with abiding love for Jesus Christ. Make it your aim to share your faith daily about Jesus Christ and help change the Heart of a Nation.

Matthew 10:5-8 Sending Out the Twelve - 5 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven [a]is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, [b]cleanse the lepers, [c]raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
